2026 Feasibility Study Update: A Renewed Foundation for the Sisson Project

The study forecasts strong financial results for the proposed open-pit mine and processing facility, which would produce concentrates of tungsten and molybdenum. It provides an updated assessment of the project’s design, expected production, costs and economic potential.

 

The updated study is an important milestone, but it is not a construction decision nor authorization to begin construction.

An investment and construction decision is anticipated in late 2027, following:

  1. Further refinement of the project’s engineering and design

  2. The fulfillment of outstanding environmental impact assessment approval conditions

  3. Discussions with potential customers and an updated market feasibility assessment

  4. The securement of final project financing

 

All of this work is in progress.

The complete NI 43-101 Technical Report will be filed publicly by October 15, 2026, within the required 45-day filing period. It will be added to this page when available.

The updated design also incorporates autonomous haul systems, refinements to the mine plan, and significant updates to the proposed tailings storage facility and water management system.

All financial figures are in Canadian dollars and presented on a 100 per cent project basis. These estimates are based on the information and assumptions set out in the updated study, including assumptions about commodity prices, exchange rates, costs, ore grades and mineral recovery, and may change as project planning advances.

Why Was the Study Updated?

The original Sisson feasibility study was released in 2013. Since then, the Sisson Partnership has undertaken additional field investigations, testing and engineering work to fulfill the environmental impact assessment approval conditions and refine the project’s design.

 

The updated study brings this work together with current information about costs, commodity markets and project economics. It provides an updated foundation against which to assess the project and plan the next phase of work.

What Happens Next?

The updated feasibility study provides information to support the work and decisions ahead. Next steps for the Sisson Partnership include:

  • Beginning basic engineering to further optimize equipment selection, site layouts and design criteria;

  • Continuing to address environmental impact assessment approval conditions and other government requirements;

  • Continuing to meet with First Nations, local communities and other stakeholders;

  • Advancing commercial and customer discussions;

  • Securing project financing; and

  • Reaching a final investment decision.

 

An anticipated construction decision is targeted for late 2027, with mine operations targeted to begin in 2030.
